Thanksgiving Weekend Events from Four Peaks Brewing Co!

Thanksgiving Holiday Happenings at Four Peaks Brewery!

We have so many Thanksgiving weekend events to share from the original Four Peaks in Tempe and Four Peaks Grill & Tap in Scottsdale!

It all begins at 11 AM on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving as we help to get you prepared for the holiday ahead. It’s your final chance to get a growler or 6-pack of everyone’s favorite Pumpkin Porter and all of our other “To-Go” beer choices before Four Peaks Brewery locations close for the Thanksgiving holiday. Remember, this is THE day we typically look at to finish off the Pumpkin Porter, so this may be your last chance to get it on draft! And, if you’re looking to “spice it up” even more, for one day only we will also be filling growlers with our delicious Double Pumpkin; plus you have all of your favorite Four Peaks beers to choose from too! (Sorry, no growler fills on Oatmeal Stout!)

Make sure that your turkey day reaches its full potential by planning your day around a stop at either our original Tempe location or Scottsdale Grill & Tap and remember ALL FOUR PEAKS LOCATIONS WILL BE CLOSED ON THANKSGIVING DAY.

When we return from the Thanksgiving holiday on Friday, make sure you stop by your favorite Four Peaks location for our twist on the Black Friday “fun”, are you ready for SIRIUS BLACK FRIDAY? That’s right! When you get your fill fighting the crowded malls; unwind with your favorite Russian Imperial Stout and, while you’re at it, buy a Gift Card or 3 for that hard-to-buy-for person on your list. Checkity-check-check! Shopping’s done!

But if it’s not, drop by our original Tempe 8th Street location from 11 AM to 4 PM on Saturday the 28th for our 2nd Annual Four Peaks Small Business Saturday Sidewalk Sale Spectacular! Get some smokin’ deals on overstock, seasonal and last year’s items! The sidewalk sale goes from 11 AM to 4 PM, so don’t miss out on these great deals!

Then, beginning at 2 PM on Sunday, we will showcase the winner of the “Show Us Your Turkey” Social Media Poll at our 2 locations. Drop by to enjoy what our culinary team deems the most creative use for those turkey leftovers you have in your fridge. Look for a beer pairing special to also be offered and, perhaps, be inspired to do something equally amazing with your leftover Holiday turkey!

On the last day of the month, Monday, December 30th, make sure to jump online and go directly to the Four Peaks Online Store to partake in our CY-BEER MONDAY Sale where we’ll be offering merchandise for 20% OFF STOREWIDE exclusively online! We’ll have longtime faves like Kilt Lifter T’s & Beer Koozies to our Hydroflasks and Tap Handles plus everything in between.  Just put in the Coupon Code “CYBEER upon check out! It’s one day only from midnight to midnight so don’t miss out!

We cap off our extended Holiday weekend on Tuesday, December 1st when we officially ring in the beginning of Winter with the release our long awaited Winter seasonal, the ¡Odelay! Mexican Chocolate Brown Ale at our Four Peaks locations. A fantastic fusion of Mexican dark chocolate and spices is perfect for the short days and chilly Arizona nights.

If you have family in town, bring them around for a Saturday tour of our original brewery! For brewery tour schedule and to book your tour, click here!

We look forward to seeing you this holiday weekend! Cheers!

We made a video about this weekend too! Check it out!

Pumpkins, and Prizes, and Porters! OH MY!

Ahhhh… Fall in the desert. The daily weather report may not be a good indicator that fall is upon us, BUT it’s nothing that a little pumpkin carving contest can’t cure!

826On Friday, October 30, Four Peaks will be holding its 18th Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest at the Four Peaks Tasting Room on Wilson. This year promises to be the best year to date! Not only is there ample parking at the Wilson location, but we will also be enjoying the tasty fare from not one but TWO food trucks – New Flame Cafe and Fontana’s Pizzeria.

Hey, even if you don’t have a carved pumpkin, stop by anyway and have a pint of Pumpkin Porter, or better yet, a pint of Double Pumpkin!

Here’s the low down on the specifics for this event:

• The Four Peaks’ Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest drop-off begins at 6 PM and goes till 8 PM for participants 21 years old and older.

Judging commences from 8 PM to 8:40 PM. So, be sure to bring your friends along with you to vote!

Winners announced at 9 PM followed by high fives all around.

fp-drunk-pumpkinPUMPKIN CARVING RULES & REGULATIONS:

1) All pumpkin carving is to be completed off-site and delivered as a completed work to the Four Peaks Tasting Room on Wilson. While we love the end results, we don’t like slipping around the Tasting Room in pumpkin guts!

2) Everyone is responsible for the purchase of their pumpkin(s). There is no size or weight limit, but all pumpkins and designs must be movable and set up by the carvers with no additional assistance. Plus, how are you going to hold your beer and try to lift a ginormous Jack-o-lantern? Priorities, friends. Priorities.

3) No derogatory or ethically questionable pumpkins will be accepted. We’re all friends here.

Meet the judges: The guests and friends of Four Peaks Tasting Room on Wilson!

That means that anyone interested in judging has the opportunity to cast one ballot to mark entries in the three categories of BEST OVERALL, BEST FOUR PEAKS THEME, and MOST CREATIVE.

What’s at stake?

Well, for one, we’ll make you Facebook Famous (and Instagram Famous and Twitter Famous) by sharing your mug and your prized pumpkin on our pages!

We know you’d like a little more than clout and bragging rights here, so Best in Show wins a gift card to purchase a ¼ BBL Double Pumpkin. Most Creative and Best Four Peaks Theme each wins a gift card to purchase a ¼ BBL of their choice keg (not including Pumpkin Porter or Double Pumpkin), in addition to some fun runner-up prizes.

So, tap into your inner artist and get cracking! I thought I’d share some inspiration to help you along as well. (Note: these are NOT endorsements, just some fun ideas to share.)

Now, anyone who has lived through even ONE Halloween in the desert knows that these Jack-o-lanterns have a tough time taking on the elements of our beloved weather. Check out a couple of these blogs that help you preserve and prolong the life of your work of art:

Fall in the desert is indeed celebrated a little differently than in other parts of the country. While it seems as though our friends and family just about everywhere else are getting out sweaters and hoodies, we’re still fighting through the 100º weather. But we’ll be playing a couple rounds of golf while these friends and family are shoveling snow, won’t we?! Cheers!

8 Reason You Need to Attend the 2015 Four Peaks Oktoberfest

Not many organizations in Tempe can say they have been running successfully for 43 years. Many of us can’t even say we’ve been breathing for 43 years let alone running anything successfully for that duration.

Dick Neuheisel, President of Tempe Sister Cities
Dick Neuheisel, President of Tempe Sister Cities

Dick Neuheisel, President of Tempe Sister Cities, can say that. Forty-some years ago, on their way to Skopje, Macedonia, the first Sister City, Dick and his wife stopped in Vienna and they were admiring some dirndls. Dick committed to his wife that he’d bring an Oktoberfest to Tempe for her to don her dirndl to support the Tempe Sister Cities and in 1973, he did just that.

Forty-three years and nine more Sister Cities later, the Tempe tradition lives on. It may have a new name, Four Peaks Oktoberfest, but the heart and soul of the operation remain the same: maintain the monetary lifeline of Tempe Sister Cities. Sister Cities is an organization that provides vital programs for Tempe residents, students, and educators. This non-profit organization is “in the business of making friends – globally.”

Here are eight reasons why you need to clear your calendar and join us for the 43rd Annual Four Peaks Oktoberfest on October 9 – 11, 2015:

1. Admission is FREE!
Much like the best things in life. Save those bones for beer.

Speaking of beer…

2. Copious amounts of Beer.
Taps will be flowing with this sweet nectar that will include (but not limited to) Four Peaks Pumpkin Porter, and Paulenar Oktoberfest. Paulenar is one of the only six official beers allowed to be poured for Oktoberfest in Munich. Make no mistake about it, though, there will be a brew for all beer lovers enjoy!

VonHanson-13. Bountiful brats.
One of the reasons why Four Peaks was so happy to be a part of this celebration was Tempe Sister Cities’ commitment to local. The brats that are served at Four Peaks Oktoberfest are from none other than Arizona’s own Von Hansen’s Meats and Spirits. It is estimated that 25,000 brats will be consumed over the three-day event with 750 kegs of beer to wash those delicious brats down and, folks, it doesn’t get any fresher than brats from Chandler, AZ.
